CHAMELEONE AND HIS WIFE GET SAVED
The two accepted Jesus on Thursday evening after Kenyan evangelist Annabelle Renno preached and prayed for them at Kololo Hospital, whereChameleone was admitted on Wednesday morning after a brawl.
Annabelle, an apostle from Without Walls Evangelistic Ministries in Kenya, entered Chameleones hospital room at about 4:00pm without themusicians knowledge and by the time she left at 7:00pm, the musician was singing Alleluiah.
After preaching for a while, she asked Chameleone whether he knew Jesus, to which the singer answered, I know him and he knows me.
The apostle then said on Wednesday God asked her, in a dream, to go and save Chameleone from his troubles. He said he wanted to use him through singing. God asked me whether I knew Yusuf Chameleon. I had no idea who he was, she said.
The apostle then asked Chameleone what he wanted God to do for him. I want Him to have mercy on me, Chameleone answered.
Asked whether they were willing to give their lives to Christ, Chameleone and his wife said yes.
The preacher led them in a one-on-one prayer confession, in which the couple vowed to turn away from sins they had committed in the past and pledged to denounce satanic practices.
Two days ago at Silk club in Kampala according to Mr Sam Mukasa, whowas travelling in the same car with Chameleone, one Mr Ssentongo tossed abottle at Chameleone's car and sped off towards the city centre.
"Chameleone ordered the driver only identified as David to pursue MrSsentongo and we caught up with them near the Jinja Road round-about," Mr Mukasa said.
He said Chameleone got out of the car and asked Mr Ssentongo why hehad hit his car.
"But Meddie just drove towards Chameleone with intent to knock him, but one of his (Chameleone's) friends pulled him out of the way and the car only hit him around the waist," he added.
However, the Police has a different story altogether. The Police spokesperson Judith Nabakooba said yesterday that they recorded astatement from Mr Sentongo who reported a case against Chameleone atJinja Road Police Station.
Police said the incident happened at 2am near Club Silk as Chameleone was on his way back home.
"We have opened a case of malicious damage of property against Mr Mayanja but he hasn't given us his statement.
Our officers went toKololo Hospital where he is hospitalised but couldn't record astatement because his health wasn't good," Ms Nabakooba said.
Late last year saw the talented singer breaking both his legs after falling from a third floor window at the Impala hotel in Arusha he was staying. He is still walking in crutches todate.
